How to register for the dMAT

Before you register

1. Confirm the dMAT applies to you — affected field, summer semester 2027 intake or later, APS not started before 29 June 2026.
2. Check anabin for your university and your degree. A degree that does not clear anabin is a problem no test result fixes.
3. Read the affected-fields list published by APS India if your subject is borderline.

Registering

1. Go to d-mat.de and open the registration for the current administration.
2. Choose your test centre from the list shown during registration.
3. Register with the General Academic Module, which is the subject module the APS route requires.
4. Pay — the fee is shown during registration.
5. Register well before the deadline, which falls days rather than weeks before the test.

g.a.s.t. publishes a candidate information document before each administration covering the test centre, identity checks, exam rules, breaks and the APS procedure. Read it before the day, not on it.

On the day

• It is taken digitally at a licensed test centre, not at home.
• Bring the identity documents the candidate information specifies, exactly as specified.
• The test runs three and a half hours with a break between the two modules.
• Every answer is single-choice, and the test language is English.

After the test

1. Download the certificate from the g.a.s.t. participant portal when results are published.
2. Enclose it with your APS application documents.
3. APS India checks the result against what g.a.s.t. holds and then issues your APS certificate, which references the dMAT result.

You do not need an agent for any of this. If a consultancy offers to "arrange" your dMAT, understand that registration is a public process on d-mat.de and you are paying for something you can do yourself in fifteen minutes.
