PTE exam fee in India 2026, and everything around it
PTE Academic costs INR 18,900 in India, and so do PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core. The PTE Home tests are INR 15,300. One thing worth knowing before you compare it with IELTS: sending your score to institutions is free and unlimited on PTE, which is a real saving if you are applying to more than five universities.

Pearson runs 57 test centres across India, including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Mumbai and New Delhi. The fee is the same wherever you sit it.
What the fee includes
- A single two-hour test at a Pearson test centre, covering all four skills in one sitting.
- Results typically in two days, with an email when they are ready.
- A digital Score Report in your myPTE account.
- Unlimited score sending, free. You can share your report with as many institutions as you like at no cost — there is no per-university charge and no paper copy to post.
That last point is the quiet cost difference. IELTS gives you five free electronic reports and charges for each one after that; PTE charges for none of them.
Retakes, and what they cost
There is no discounted retake and no single-section retake on PTE: a second attempt is a second full test at the full fee. You may book it as soon as you have received the scores from your previous test, and it can be in the same month.
That makes the arithmetic different from IELTS, where One Skill Retake lets you re-sit one section for less than the full price. If you are confident in three skills and shaky in one, that difference is worth weighing before you choose which test to take.
Discount codes, and reading them carefully
Pearson runs periodic promotional codes on the Indian site. They are genuine, they are time-limited, and they apply at booking rather than afterwards — so if you see one, check the terms and the expiry before you decide it changes your plan. Never buy a code from a third party.
