Duolingo English Test dates: there are none, and that is the point
The Duolingo English Test has no test dates. There is no appointment to book, no centre to travel to and no calendar to check: you buy the test and take it whenever you have an hour of uninterrupted time. For a student against a deadline that is the single biggest practical difference from every other English test.

A student who discovers on the 1st that a university needs an English score by the 8th has essentially one option, and this is it.
Choose your hour carefully
Because you pick the moment, pick it well. The test is adaptive, unforgiving of interruptions and impossible to pause.
- A full hour with nobody entering the room.
- Quiet — the recording picks up background noise, and the proctoring review flags it.
- A stable connection, and a device that will not update itself halfway through.
- The time of day you think most clearly, which for most people is not midnight before a deadline.
- Your phone charged and something to prop it against, for the second camera angle.
There is no going back to a question and no pausing the test. An interruption is not a setback, it is a submitted answer.
Planning a retake
Because results arrive in two days and there is nothing to book, a retake is realistic in a way it is not on other tests. Duolingo does limit how many certified tests you may take in a given period — check the current rule in the help centre before building a plan that assumes three attempts in a month.
Also check your programme's deadline for *receiving* scores rather than for submitting the application. They are often different dates, and the gap is where a second attempt fits.
