Scholarships to study in Ireland for Indian students
Ireland has a small number of government awards and a wider set of university scholarships, most of them partial. The attraction for Indian students is usually the combination of English-taught courses, a two-year stay-back and a one-year master's — funding is a bonus rather than the draw.

What is available
- Government of Ireland awards — few, competitive, and usually covering fees plus a stipend.
- University scholarships — more numerous, usually a share of tuition, often assessed from your application.
- Departmental and research funding, which follows a supervisor rather than an office.
Because a taught master's in Ireland is usually one year, a partial award covers proportionally more of the total cost than the same percentage would in a two-year programme.
Planning around it
- Apply for admission early; several university awards are allocated as applications are assessed.
- Check each university's own scholarship page as well as the central one.
- Confirm whether the award is applied to fees or paid to you, which affects your visa financial evidence.
Ireland's visa financial requirement is separate from your tuition, so an award covering fees does not remove it. Check /visa-guide/ireland/financial-requirements before assuming.
