MSc Data Science

The course covers machine learning, statistical analysis, data visualisation and big data technologies, taught by researchers from the university's machine intelligence group. Real-world case studies and industry collaboration opportunities are built into the delivery. Entry normally requires a first degree at 2:2 minimum in a related field such as AI, computer science, computing, IT or data science. International qualifications are assessed on a country-specific basis. What the fee covers: the international full-time rate, per year. Fee year: 2026-27. English requirement as published: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Before you budget: the page prints 'International £17,000 a year' full-time, against a UK rate of £8,365 a year. The January start runs 16 months including a summer break; May and September starts run 12 months. This course requires a computing-related first degree — it is not a conversion course, unlike Coventry's or Huddersfield's data science conversion routes. Teesside requires a £4,000 deposit before it will issue a CAS (https://www.tees.ac.uk/sections/international/fees.cfm), refunded only if your visa is refused. This is the Middlesbrough campus, not Teesside University London.
