Master of Digital Business

The Master of Digital Business is taken over 12 months full-time across three trimesters, or one academic year across A and B trimesters, at Waikato's Hamilton campus or fully online. The curriculum covers artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, mobile computing, beacon technology, gamification and business intelligence. Students complete a professional internship of 8 to 13 weeks at an organisation of their choice and an applied research project investigating a real-world digital business problem. The programme is offered at 180 or 120 points depending on the applicant's previous qualifications. What the fee covers: the international 2026 estimated fee for 120 points, which is one full-time year. Fee year: 2026. English requirement as published: the scores shown come solely from Waikato's university-wide postgraduate table (https://www.waikato.ac.nz/study/apply/international/entry-requirements-for-international-students/). The programme page prints no English requirement at all — the word 'IELTS' does not appear on it — so do not expect a course-specific score. Before you budget: Waikato's table gives 2026 estimates of NZ$39,840 for 120 points and NZ$59,760 for 180 points, and 2027 estimates of NZ$41,832 and NZ$62,748. Which one applies depends on whether you qualify for the shorter 120-point route; with a three-year Indian bachelor's you may be placed on the 180-point route, which costs about 50% more, so do not treat NZ$39,840 as a guaranteed price. Part-time study is available to domestic students only. A compulsory Student Services levy is charged on top of tuition. On the entry requirement: the 120-point route requires 'an Honours degree (at least second class honours second division)' — the class matters, so not every honours degree qualifies. Note also that the criteria readable on the programme page sit under its 'Domestic students' tab, and the 'International students' tab loads no distinct content, so these are not separately stated international criteria.
