You could also pursue a career as a self-employed entrepreneur. The Viikki Campus provides an ideal environment for studying the unique combination of subjects offered by our programme. Upon graduating, you will have become a skilled professional in applied economics with specialist knowledge of agriculture, the environment and natural resources. You will be well versed in topics such as climate policy, sustainable agriculture, natural resource management and food security. The Master's programme comprises two study tracks:Agricultural economics Through state-of-the-art studies in Agricultural Economics, you will learn to apply theories and empirical methods to analyse the economics and management of agricultural and rural enterprises. You will gain a deep understanding of agri-food markets, the ability to assess agricultural and food policies, and expertise in the analysis of global food systems. In addition, you will develop an understanding of entrepreneurial thinking and the foundations of social scientific entrepreneurship research.Environmental and resource economics As a graduate of the Environmental and Resource Economics study track, you will be equipped to identify the socio-economic drivers behind natural resource use and environmental degradation. You will be able to analyze how policies affect the environment and the use of natural resources and formulate evidence-based recommendations to support decision-making in both the public and private sectors. Your training will provide you with the skills to apply economic theory and advanced quantitative methods, such as econometrics, analytical and numerical dynamic modelling, and game theory. Further information on the Master’s Programme’s website.
