About this programme
In the Master's programme in Electrical Engineering, you will gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the field of electrical engineering and information technology, develop your methodological skills and acquire transferable skills, including independent learning and interdisciplinary thinking. This course equips graduates with unique engineering skills and empowers them to either continue in academia or take on positions with a high level of responsibility. International students will be able to study this Master’s programme from winter semester 2025/26 onwards. The lectures are held in English only. Advanced study programme During the first two semesters, students can deepen their knowledge through advanced lectures and specialise even further by working on real-world projects. 2. Master's thesis The students of this programme are expected to utilise their new skills to work on a scientific thesis in the third semester. Graduates of this programme are well equipped for successful careers and demanding roles in the field of electrical engineering. This Master's programme offers excellent prospects for a career in research as well as in innovative industries. Prerequisites
Bachelor's Degree and Grade Average Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Information Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering. The Bachelor’s degree must have above-average results. The grade point average for admission is 2.69 or better according to the German grading system. If you have a foreign Bachelor’s degree, a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist is required. ECTS Applicants should have achieved at least 210 ECTS credit points in their undergraduate studies. Degree holders with degrees of at least 180 credit points (or equivalent, i.e. university degrees comprising of six semesters) can be granted provisional admission to the degree programme. They are required to attain the missing credit points within one year of the commencement of studies. VPD from uni-assist In order to apply for the Master's programme, candidates with a first degree from a non-German institute will have to prove that their Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a German first degree. THA conducts the admission of applicants with foreign university entrance qualifications together with uni-assist, who validates all your certificates and transcripts of your educational records. Prior to your application to us, please request a so-called Preliminary Review Documentation (German abbreviation: VPD) as soon as possible, as it can take four to six weeks to receive it.
