About this programme
The research and transfer-oriented Master of Arts (MA) “Ibero-Romance Cultural Studies” (IRK) addresses students interested in (inter)cultural topics related to the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America from a comparative and transnational viewpoint. Besides Spanish and Portuguese language socio-cultures and media, the transatlantic relations between Europe, the Americas and Africa are studied from a historic as well as actual perspective, including (post)colonial and (trans)areal aspects. Contents: History of language, ideas and (media)culture in Ibero-Romania Ibero-Romance diversity, interculturality & pluricentricity Transatlantic relations Decolonial perspectives Philological-based humanities approach and much more Semester abroad (third semester) with internship/project option, which can also be realised as an internship semester at home Structured options in two elective modules (first and second semester) to acquire interdisciplinary competencies PDF Download
