About this programme
This English-taught Master's programme provides a forward-thinking education in the areas of automation, robotics and control. The initial theory courses serve as the groundwork for the more practice-oriented modules later on. All courses are conducted by researchers actively engaged in the field. The foundational knowledge is provided by the general compulsory modules, which include Mathematics for Engineering Science, Advanced Linear Control, Learning Dynamical Systems, Autonomous Systems and Robots, Modelling and Control. Building upon these compulsory subjects, the programme offers various opportunities for further specialisation in the areas of Automation, Robotics and Control. The study programme is completed with the Master's thesis in the final semester. Compulsory subjects – 25 CP: Mathematics for Engineering Science (semester 1, lecture/seminar/lab) Advanced Linear Control (semester 1, lecture/seminar) Learning Dynamical Systems (semester 1, lecture/seminar) Autonomous Systems (semester 1, lecture/seminar/lab) Robots, Modelling and Control (semesters 1 , lecture/seminar) Elective subjects (specialisation) – 20 CP: Students can choose subjects from the following catalogue: Field of Automation: Autonomous Systems Lab (semester 2, seminar/lab) – 5 CP Perception for Autonomous Vehicles (semester 2, lecture/seminar/lab) – 5 CP Field of Robotics: Advanced Robotics/Embodied AI (semester 2, lecture/seminar) – 5 CP Robotics Lab (semester 2, seminar/lab) – 5 CP Seminar Robotics and Human-Technology Interaction (semester 2 or 3, seminar) – 5 CP Field of Control: Non-linear Control (semester 2, lecture/seminar) – 5 CP Optimal Control (semester 2, lecture/seminar) – 5 CP Control Systems Technology in Applications (semester 3, lecture/seminar) – 5 CP Dynamics and Control of Networked Systems (semester 2, lecture/seminar) – 5 CP Control Systems Lab (semester 3, seminar/lab) – 5 CP Elective modules (supplementary) – 30 CP: Students can choose modules from the fields of languages (German), mathematics, electrical engineering or computer science.
