All facilities have been newly built or thoroughly renovated to meet the latest educational needs. Most of the services you need during your studies are available on your own campus. Some services are located on the Tikkarinne campus, including Student Services, the Pisara Library, and the university administration. Karelia has actively participated in national efforts to improve accessibility in higher education. Accessibility has been taken into account in all Karelia UAS facilities.Approximately 2,000 students in social and health care and media studies study at the Tikkarinne campus. It also hosts the Business Academy for student entrepreneurs. The campus is located in Niinivaara, Joensuu, about two kilometres from the city centre. Around 2,500 students in forestry, engineering, business, and tourism study at the Wärtsilä campus, which is located one kilometre from the city centre. Karelia’s location in the easternmost part of Finland, offers all inhabitants unique combination of easygoingness, proximity to the nature and the vibrancy of the city life.

Typically for Finnish institutions in this band — universities of applied sciences (AMK) — a recognised bachelor's degree that qualifies you for master's study in India, plus, for most AMK master's degrees, at least two years (occasionally three) of relevant work experience gained after that degree; this is a formal eligibility rule and international applicants are not exempt.
