About this programme

CBU's MAIBA is a 16-month, 36-credit master's delivered in person on the Sydney, Nova Scotia campus, with both full-time (16-month) and part-time options. The curriculum blends analytics, artificial intelligence and sustainability with Indigenous perspectives, taught through hands-on labs, real datasets and immersive simulations. In the final study semester students complete either a 420-hour internship or a Master's project. CBU positions graduates for roles in business intelligence, healthcare, supply chain, finance and government. What the fee covers: the international full-time rate for year one only — 27 credits, nine 3-credit courses. CBU's 2026-2027 international table states CAD 1,449.90 tuition plus a CAD 1,152 international differential per 3-credit course. Year two is much cheaper, so do not multiply this figure by two. Fee year: 2026-27. English requirement as published: IELTS 6.5 overall with no individual band below 6.0; or TOEFL iBT 80 (no score below 20) for tests taken before 21 January 2026; or Duolingo 120; or PTE 59; or CAEL 60. Before you budget: two official CBU pages agree on what this degree costs. The fee page publishes Total Year 1 CAD 25,864.87, Total Year 2 CAD 9,330.29 and a programme total of CAD 35,195.16, and the programme page independently states 'INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: $35,195.16' for the 16-month, 36-credit degree. Budget CAD 35,195.16 all-in, which already includes the international differential, International Medical Plan A at CAD 1,283 a year and the one-time SSOB Master's Program Fee of CAD 440. The per-year figure above is year-one tuition and differential only, and will overstate the cost if you multiply it out. Entry, from the programme page: a four-year degree in science, mathematics, computer science, business, economics or engineering, a minimum GPA of 3.0 (73-76%) or B in the final 60 credits, and a statistics course passed at 70% or better.
