Australia university intakes
Australia runs on a southern-hemisphere academic year: the main intake is February and the second is July. For an Indian graduate finishing in May or June, that calendar is often more convenient than the northern one — July is only weeks away.

The calendar advantage
- July suits Indian final-year students whose results arrive in May or June.
- February is the main intake, with the fullest course list and most funding.
- Both are substantial, unlike the secondary intakes in several other destinations.
The practical consequence is that an Australian application often needs less waiting than a UK or US one for a student graduating mid-year.
Visa timing
- Apply for admission four to six months ahead.
- Accept and pay the deposit to receive the Confirmation of Enrolment.
- Prepare the Genuine Student evidence, which asks why this course and this country.
- Apply for the visa with a buffer against published processing times.
The Genuine Student requirement reads your funding story and your course choice together. Keep your scholarship, loan and study plan consistent across the whole application.
