MSc Cyber Security and Forensic Information Technology

The course combines cyber security and forensic information technology, with practical work in digital forensics labs covering evidence collection, attack-prevention technique, cryptography and Linux. It is aimed at roles in law enforcement, IT security and digital investigation. Entry requires a second-class honours degree in a relevant subject including Computer Sciences, Legal or Social Sciences, or equivalent professional experience. A three-year part-time route starting in January is also offered. What the fee covers: the international full-time rate, per year. Fee year: 2026-27. English requirement as published: IELTS 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5. The international part-time rate is £6,400 per year over three years — that is a per-year figure for a longer route, not a cheaper total, and part-time study is not compatible with a standard student visa. The September start is 12 months and the January start is 16 months. This course accepts legal and social science graduates as well as computing graduates, which is unusual for a cyber course and widens your options if your first degree is not in computing.
