About this programme
A twelve-month course combining technical and business modules for engineers moving into management, covering quality systems, management fundamentals, new product development, project and finance management, and professional development. Students take optional modules from specialisms including manufacturing automation, virtual instrumentation and advanced CAD, and complete an independent research project often in collaboration with industry. Entry requires an honours degree at 2:2 or above in electrical, control, mechanical or systems engineering or similar, or a closely related science subject such as physics or mathematics, or an equivalent professional qualification. What the fee covers: the international full-time rate, per year. Fee year: 2026-27. English requirement as published: IELTS 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5. Before you budget: the page prints International '£18,700 per year' for 2026/27 against Home '£10,305 per year', with the same inflation caveat. Start dates are 21 September 2026 and 11 January 2027. Unlike Coventry's engineering management course, this one does not accept management graduates — an engineering or physical-science degree is required. Small additional costs are disclosed on the page: field trips 'between £5 and £40 depending on the trip' and possible project materials, though many materials are supplied by the department. A distance-learning version exists at a different fee.
