MSc Computer Science

The course covers advanced computing across artificial intelligence, cyber security and data science. Students study theoretical foundations and current technique in software engineering, machine learning, data mining and secure system design, then complete an individual project aligned to their career interest. Entry typically requires a BSc or BEng honours degree at 2:2 or above in computing or a related subject, or an equivalent professional qualification. The course is taught face-to-face at the Queensgate campus in Huddersfield. What the fee covers: the international full-time rate, per year. Fee year: 2026-27. English requirement as published: IELTS 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5. Before you budget: the page prints International '£18,700 per year' for 2026/27 against Home '£10,305 per year', with the university's own caveat that 'tuition fees for subsequent years may rise in line with inflation (RPI-X) and/or Government policy'. Start dates are precise: 21 September 2026 and 11 January 2027. This course requires a computing or related first degree — the conversion route at the same fee is Huddersfield's MSc Data Science and Applied Artificial Intelligence. A part-time distance-learning format of two to three years also exists and is not compatible with a student visa. University of Huddersfield London is a separate campus with different fees.
