About this programme
Translational medicine aims to the application of new findings in therapies, diagnostics or prevention of human disease in the various fields of medical practice. Clinical data and patient samples are essential in unravelling the disease mechanisms and treatment outcomes. The aim of Master’s Programme in Translational Medicine (TRANSMED) is to provide a solid basis for both academic and non-academic careers in the health sector. Our students have direct interactions with researchers, clinicians and health tech and innovations sector representatives. This promotes understanding of translational medicine and its clinical and industrial applications. More information on the programme website. A TRANSMED graduate understands the language of both science and medicine and is able to communicate both with clinicians and scientists is able to practice scientific reasoning and critically analyse scientific literature is able to discuss scientific findings for general public understands key concepts in medical sciences understands the concepts of translational research and is able to apply these to address the needs of clinical practice, diagnosis or therapy, or the health care processes is able to apply appropriate up-to-date research methodologies In TRANSMED you can freely choose from two study tracks: Translational Research, which supports research careers and Health Industry and Innovations, designed to provide skills and contacts for careers in health industry. Both study tracks provide solid basis and eligibility for doctoral (PhD) studies.
