Bachelor of Computing Science (BCS)

TRU's Bachelor of Computing Science is a four-year degree at the Kamloops campus, consisting of two years of general study followed by two years of concentrated computing science study. Students may complete a co-op work term to gain industry experience, and TRU offers undergraduate research opportunities to degree students. Entry pathways include a double-degree option, laddering from a diploma, and direct entry from other areas including Arts and Business. Fee year: 2026-27. Before you budget: two caveats come with that number. First, the CAD 104,952 comes from the generic 'Bachelor's Degrees' row rather than a BCS-specific one, so confirm with TRU that the BCS carries no programme-specific premium before you rely on it. TRU does list several 'exception programs' with their own totals — BEng Software Engineering, BEng Computer Engineering, Engineering Transfer and ARET among them — so the generic row is the right one to apply here, but it is worth one question. Second, TRU's own row does not reconcile internally: CAD 875 x 120 credits is 105,000 and CAD 2,623 x 40 courses is 104,920, yet TRU prints 104,952. The gap is under CAD 100, but expect roughly CAD 105,000 in total, about CAD 26,250 a year, and treat all of these as approximate. TRU's per-credit international rate for 2026-27 is CAD 875. Entry: academic entry requires Pre-calculus 12 or Foundations of Math 12 with a minimum C+ or equivalent taken within the last two years. Co-op entry is competitive and separate: a term and cumulative GPA of 2.33 in all BSc courses, plus COMP 2230 and COMP 2920 before the first work term.
