(link)Structure of StudiesThe structure of Master’s degree programs at Laurea UAS is the following:CORE COMPETENCE (Compulsory studies, 30 ECTS)THESIS (Research-based development project, 30 ECTS)COMPLEMENTARY COMPETENCE (30 ECTS) with one common competence for all students Developing and management of studying skills in master's studies 5 ECTSThrough complementary competence studies, students deepen and broaden their own expertise with freely selectable courses. Complementary competence study modules are divided into competency areas, but students are free to compose their own individual study paths. Modules include research and development expertise, leadership skills, business expertise, sustainable development, design thinking for digital services, and design. Complementary competence studies are mainly conducted as online studies.The degree program is delivered online, including self-paced studying as well as two to three contact days (face-to-face, synchronously) is conducted through online with one exception: the Cosmetic Product Project-course, which takes place in Tikkurila Campus, Vantaa. Each study unit includes teaching days, independent studies, virtual studies, and applied development tasks, which are completed in small groups. Teaching days include expert lectures and workshop activities.
