In addition to joint application, separate applications offer an alternative path to education leading to a degree at Laurea. Separate applications are organized throughout the year for our various courses. Separate applications are usually organized for applicants who have previously completed studies at, for example, an open university of applied sciences, another university or a certain secondary education institution, or previous work experience in a certain field.The Safety, Security and Risk Management studies are implemented as blended learning studies. In blended learning studies, students have an average of three days of contact lessons, three times in a semester. Presence and active participation in these contact studies form a backbone for other methods of study used. Major sections of studies are conducted independently, in group work, online, and, where possible, in the student's own workplace. Various local and international intensive courses are also available, allowing the student to complete some of the courses over a few weeks. When available, you can also select other types of studies to complete, such as fully online studies or day studies. Studying also includes tutoring, professional development and career planning to further prepare the student for the job market.Studies at Laurea make use of group work assignments, allowing students to gain valuable experience in project management. The material for the studies is maintained so that it is relevant and up to date; Leppävaara campus library has the country's largest safety, security and risk management-related collection of books and articles, most of which is available in print and electronic forms. It is also possible to cooperate and collaborate on projects with students from other degree programmes.
