About this programme

General Description At the intersection between science and practice, qualified professionals with different skills are needed, especially to put the conceptual development, planning and dissemination of physical activity, training, and other lifestyle processes (e.g. sleep, nutrition) into practice. The development, implementation, and evaluation of exercise and training to maintain and improve performance and health are important international research topics in different populations – from sedentary individuals to (high) performance athletes.  The aim of this Master's programme is to qualify graduate students to design, implement, and evaluate (advanced) evidence-informed frameworks for different target groups and individuals to regain, improve or maintain health or performance. Target Group The Master’s programme in Exercise Science & Training (MSc) is aimed at individuals who hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science, Physical Education, or a related field. It is designed for those with a strong interest in the interface between scientific research and evidence-informed exercise practice across different populations. Applicants should have a particular interest in scientific work as well as in training practice and lifestyle factors related to health (e.g. physical activity, nutrition, sleep), fitness, and/or competitive sports. Qualifications  The aim of the Master's programme is to provide the following: (1) students with in-depth knowledge of current models, theories, and methods in the context of sports and exercise science (2) skills to structure and critically assess methods and technologies to design, implement, and evaluate training and lifestyle frameworks/concepts related to performance and health The courses include lectures, seminars, and practical exercises in the laboratory and field, and the programme concludes with a Master’s thesis. The programme is conducted on site and requires mandatory attendance. Students receive comprehensive training through a close integration of theory and practice. The entire programme is offered in English and is aimed at both international and German students. PDF Download
