About this programme

The focus of the programme lies on internationally-oriented adult education and management in lifelong learning. It aims to provide students with interdisciplinary training in the fields of management in lifelong education and adult and continuing education. The spectrum of topics ranges from adult education, continuing education and philosophy of education to methods of adult education research and media pedagogy to organisational and personnel development. The Master's programme consists of three compulsory parts (70 ECTS), a compulsory elective part (20 ECTS), and a Master's thesis (30 ECTS). Each part is made up of several modules that students are required to complete. Please find more information about the courses offered on our course website (--> Study Structure). Compulsory I (20 ECTS credits): Theories and Social Framework Conditions for Lifelong Education Compulsory II (25 ECTS credits): Professional Skills in the Context of Lifelong Education Compulsory III (25 ECTS credits): Research in Adult and Continuing Education Compulsory Elective Courses (20 ECTS): Professional Skills in Adult Education / International Relations / Mediation in Museums / International Human Resource Management / Diversity and Difference Criteria (available only in German) / Linguistic Skills

For admission to the programme, you need: A Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS) with an average grade of at least 1.7 or an average grade of at least 2.2 and a positive evaluation in an additional second selection stage in which a (previous) written paper must be submitted and will be assessed according to academic standards  Proof of competence in modules regarding the following educational and pedagogical areas (minimum 40 ECTS credits), with at least 5 ECTS credits in at least two of the following areas: Micro level of education and pedagogy (e.g. teaching, learning, didactics, methodology, educational practice) Meso level of education and pedagogy (e.g. programme planning, organisational development, management) Macro level of education and pedagogy (e.g. educational policy, educational law, educational theories, theories on societal context) English proficiency: B2 level  For applicants with university degrees from a non-EU/EEA country: We require a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist to process your application.
