Master of Science in Computing

The MS in Computing (MSCP) at Wichita State's School of Computing is a 30 total credit hour, coursework-only degree with no project or thesis requirement. It is aimed at career-switchers: the curriculum is designed so that students holding a bachelor's degree in a STEM field other than computer science can succeed in computing. Students file a plan of study after completing any background deficiency courses and 9 credit hours of degree coursework, at which point they select their electives. Applicants who have taken programming, object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms during their bachelor's degree are admitted unconditionally, and the GRE is not required. Where the intake comes from: the Graduate School's per-programme admission-terms table (https://www.wichita.edu/admissions/graduate/deadlines.php) names this degree and gives it 'All terms', so this is degree-level evidence rather than a university-wide statement. The same page adds: 'Due to the lack of entry-level coursework offered during the summer semesters, the Graduate School may automatically defer summer applicants to the next fall semester.' In practice, international entry is Fall and Spring.
