About University of Warsaw
Founded in 1816, the University of Warsaw is Poland's largest university and, with the Jagiellonian, its most prestigious — a research-intensive institution of roughly 40,000 students whose historic main campus sits on Krakowskie Przedmiescie, the ceremonial route running through the centre of the capital. Its reputation abroad rests heavily on mathematics and computer science: Warsaw teams have repeatedly finished at or near the top of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, and the faculty feeds a large Warsaw technology and quantitative-finance job market. Law, economics, physics, psychology and Oriental studies are long-standing strengths, and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling runs some of Poland's most significant supercomputing facilities. For an Indian postgraduate applicant the appeal is largely economic and geographic. Second-cycle (master's) degrees are taught in English across data science and business analytics, machine learning, quantitative finance, international economics, international relations and humanitarian action, and the published non-EU fees for 2026/2027 run from about EUR 1,000 a year for some humanities and area-studies programmes up to EUR 18,000 for the joint Master in Food Systems — a fraction of comparable UK or Australian costs, and several programmes sit in the EUR 3,000–5,000 band. Warsaw's living costs are moderate by EU standards, the city has a fast-growing corporate services, IT and banking sector, and graduates may apply for a temporary residence permit to look for work after finishing. Applications go through the university's IRK online system, and the academic year runs from October to June.

Entry requirements
Typically for Polish universities in this band, a recognised three- or four-year bachelor's in a closely related field (subject match matters as much as marks) with roughly 55–60% or above. English-taught master's usually ask IELTS 6.0–6.5; some Polish universities will accept a medium-of-instruction letter from your Indian university instead, but that is decided university by university, so plan on sitting the test unless your chosen university has confirmed otherwise in writing. Polish-taught programmes need Polish at around B2, and some courses add an entrance test or interview. Vibedu confirms the exact requirement for each university free.
