India is among the eligible countries, with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kenya, the Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, Mozambique, Pakistan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Australia and New Zealand. The Foundation looks for outstanding scholars who have NO OTHER MEANS of financing their studies, so demonstrated financial need is central rather than incidental — and it asks for a reliable, multi-source funding plan covering every year of the course, not only the year it would fund. Priority goes to master's applicants; PhD applications are considered. You must be admitted to a reputable postgraduate institution and starting the first year of it.
