About this programme

The Master's Degree Programme on Inequalities, Interventions and New Welfare State is designed to give students rigorous training on social inequalities and welfare, effective social policy or intervention design, and using advanced statistical methods to measure data on these topics.The programme gives students a solid foundation to pursue further doctoral research in this field, while also providing advanced skills suitable for a career as a policy maker, analyst or researcher in public administration. As part of the Invest Joint Research Centre, Masters students will be taught by researchers from both the social and behavioural sciences, which is a unique opportunity in both Finland and Europe.Tuition feesTuition fees are charged from citizens of a country outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. Tuition fees are not charged from citizens of EU/EEA/Switzerland nor from holders of certain residence permit types. The tuition fee for the Master's Degree Programme in Inequalities, Interventions and Welfare State is 10 000 euros / academic year.There are no scholarships covering the tuition fee for the first year. However, you can get a 50 % scholarship based on your studies completed at the University of Turku for the next study year, if you meet the given requirements. For master's degree students there is also an Early Bird discount for the tuition fee available.
