About this programme
The circular economy is the path to more sustainable development and production, and a great economic opportunity that will reform business models and influence widely the society. The Master's Degree Programme in Chemistry and Analytics for Circular Economy (CACE) provides you with strong theoretical background on chemistry related to recovery and reuse of valuable raw materials as well as hands-on experience in organic and inorganic analytics. CACE is a two-year (120 ECTS) full-time programme given in English as on-site teaching in University of Jyväskylä. The aim of the programme is to produce experts in chemistry of circular economy. The curriculum of CACE is unique both nationally and internationally combining the basics of circular economy as well as the recovery and upcycling of both metals and bio-based materials, with a strong focus on analytical chemistry. Teaching includes many practical courses on instrumental techniques in organic and inorganic analytical chemistry using modern chemical instruments at the Department of Chemistry. The students of CACE gain hands-on skills that are highly valued by potential employers, for example in chemical and forest industries, which develop solutions for circular economy in transition towards a zero-waste future. Applications for this master's degree programme can be submitted once a year in January, and if you are accepted, your studies will begin in August. From this programme you will graduate with a Master of Science degree.
