Nursing, Top-up

The programme is intended for individuals who have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing outside of EU/EEA countries. The previous nursing qualification must have been completed no more than five years prior to the start of the programme. Relevant prior studies and clinical training may be accredited towards the degree, enabling a more tailored and efficient study plan. The studies combine strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills in nursing and highlight intercultural communication and language awareness. Applicants must have the minimum of B2 level in the English language (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in order to be eligible to apply. There is no prerequisite for proficiency in the Finnish language. Nursing requires the ability to work both independently as a nurse and as an expert within a multidisciplinary team. A nurse promotes health and well-being, prevents illness, and provides care for individuals in various stages of illness. Nurses work in primary health care, specialised health care units and in the private health care sector. Work environments can include hospitals and health centers as well as private companies, non-profit organizations and international organizations.
