Our study program emphasizes skills in service design, digitalization, internationality, food education, and communication.The study program can be highly individualized. Students can choose studies related to the development of food production, food education and the promotion of well-being, as well as tourism and experience production. Additionally, the studies can include entrepreneurship and language studies, as well as various work-life projects.A Bachelor of Hospitality Management graduate considers consumer needs and takes social and ecological responsibility, for example, by working to reduce food waste. The most common employers are expert and managerial positions in restaurants, staff restaurants, and public sector kitchens (e.g., schools and hospitals). At the Y-Zone Business Hub, students can develop their business ideas while completing their degree.SeAMK has a unique food industry competence center in Finland. The degree program in Hospitality Management provides opportunities to understand the entire food system: from catering services to agriculture, the food industry, and the consumer perspective.The degree program offers excellent opportunities for internships abroad, studies abroad, or virtual exchange studies. Additionally, SeAMK offers a wide range of freely selectable language studies.The scope of the studies is 210 ECTS credits and the duration is approximately 3.5 years. Studies can be completed faster depending on prior knowledge and personal goals. The studies are scheduled so that classroom teaching takes place from late August to the end of April. During the summer, it is possible to take summer courses, internships, and work on the thesis. Study modes include distance and online studies as well as various practical assignments.In the Hospitality Management program, the first internship (12 ECTS) takes place in the spring/summer of the first academic year. The advanced internship (18 ECTS) is primarily scheduled for the third academic year but can also be done during the summer. The thesis is completed towards the end of the studies.
