About this programme
The Master of Arts German-Italian Studies is an international programme with a joint degree. It arose from a cooperation between the University of Florence and the University of Bonn. The course of study is focused on philological and cultural knowledge about Italy and Germany and the mediation of German and Italian culture. The students participate in courses in the Department of Romance Studies as well as in the Department of German Studies. This curriculum includes lectures and courses in literature, (inter)cultural and media studies, linguistics and comparative studies, and language courses. Within the curriculum, it is possible to study a minor subject in political science, sociology or art history. Students enrolling in Bonn will usually study two or three semesters there and one or two semesters in Florence. Students enrolling in Florence will study two or three semesters there and one or two semesters in Bonn. The graduates are awarded a joint degree.
