Metropolia’s Physiotherapy degree programme aims to train skilled and innovative physiotherapists in a manner in which they develop their own work for the diverse and unpredicted needs of the changing society. The topical themes challenge professionals to continuously learn and reform their operating methods. In accordance with the needs of the social, health and rehabilitation services, the studies emphasise holistic learning and skills for multidisciplinary collaboration, which is based on client understanding and the active inclusion of clients. Physiotherapy degree programme includes training in applied exercise and aquatic therapy as well as rescue from water. When practicing clinical skills at campus or in clinical practices, the hygiene requirements of the work and the customer and patient safety are taken into account.Students wear laboratory and protective clothing in accordance with Metropolia's guidelines when practicing the skills. During clinical practices, students follow the guidelines for work and protective clothing, use of personal protective equipment, etc. as defined by the clinical practice units. For example, when treating patients, work clothes cannot have long sleeves, and students cannot wear their own clothes. Additionally, students must carry a Metropolia ID card with a photo, which clearly identifies the student.
