About this programme
IMACS is a network of 17 universities organised in a consortium to deliver a unique MA programme, the International Master's in Cinema Studies. The programme is based on a broad range of courses, and it is developed diversifying and enhancing the scientific specialisation of each partner within the network. The resulting offer is a value-added educational path, proposing a distinguished initiative in the field of cinema and audiovisual studies in Europe and beyond.

Eligibility Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in film studies from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz or a related degree in film, arts, or media studies with at least 30 ECTS in film, television, or new media (including media studies). If the final degree certificate is not yet available, applicants must submit a transcript showing at least 135 ECTS completed, including 20 ECTS in film, television, or new media. Application Documents Applicants are required to submit: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree certificate (or transcript of records if the degree is not yet completed) Transcript demonstrating relevant course work Letter of motivation (max. two pages), including ideas for the final project and preferences for two host universities
