Who has more than whom, and why? What are the costs and benefits of different environmental policies to deal with global warming? What are the causes and effects of unemployment? Throughout its history, economics has sought to understand how the world works and create an environment where individuals and nations thrive. It is an exciting discipline for students interested in politics, history, international affairs and consumer behaviour – while not forgetting logic and mathematics. We also provide a free online course, Talouskurssi.fi, in Finnish for secondary school students.After completing the Bachelor's Programme in Economics, you will have:A strong understanding of economic theory. Students admitted to the Bachelor's Programme in Economics will automatically be eligible to continue to the Master's Programme in Economics or to other Master's Programmes at the Aalto University School of Business (according to transfer regulations). The Department of Economics also has a strong track record of helping students to enter some of the most prestigious graduate programmes abroad.
