GMAT Scoring System & How It Is Calculated
The GMAT Focus Edition gives a total score from 205 to 805, built from three equally weighted sections: Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights.
| Score | Level | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| 685 – 805 | Excellent | Top percentile — competitive for the world's leading MBA programs. |
| 645 – 684 | Very Good | Strong score accepted by most top business schools. |
| 605 – 644 | Good | Meets the requirement of many reputable MBA programs. |
| 555 – 604 | Average | Accepted by a range of business schools; aim higher for scholarships. |
| < 555 | Developing | Sufficient for some programs — Vibedu helps you raise it. |
Your GMAT Focus total score (205–805) is derived from all three sections — Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights — which now carry equal weight. The test is adaptive, so the difficulty adjusts to your performance. Most top MBA programs look for 645+, while a balanced, high score across all three sections is viewed most favourably.
