We haven't confirmed this year's application window, and these dates move every cycle — so we won't print one. The official page is the only reliable source. Ask us and we'll track it for you and tell you when it opens.
Eligibility
Read what this award is before planning around it: it funds participation in a univie summer or winter school — a short programme of a few weeks — and not a degree. Degree-programme students and early-career researchers in any discipline may apply, and selection weighs academic excellence together with demonstrated financial need, which means describing your circumstances and submitting supporting documents rather than only showing grades. A limited number are granted. For degree or research funding in Austria the route is the OeAD Ernst Mach Grant rather than anything on this page.
Applied for alongside your application to the summer or winter school itself, through the University of Vienna's Sommerhochschule, with the financial-need documentation submitted as part of it. Successful applicants may also receive a waiver of the school's own tuition. Separately, the University awards scholarships to law graduates who took their degree abroad, usually announced in May or June.
Partial scholarships of €500–€1,500 towards a univie summer or winter school, with a possible waiver of the school's tuition. Confirm the current value on the official page before you apply.
