We haven't confirmed this year's application window, and these dates move every cycle — so we won't print one. The official page is the only reliable source. Ask us and we'll track it for you and tell you when it opens.
Eligibility
Designed exclusively for Indian students, which makes it the exact counterpart to Manaaki — a New Zealand scheme India is not eligible for at all. The awards are jointly funded by Education New Zealand and all eight New Zealand universities: Auckland, AUT, Canterbury, Lincoln, Massey, Otago, Victoria University of Wellington and Waikato. Open at undergraduate and postgraduate level, built around business, fashion and STEM-related programmes, so the field you apply in is part of the eligibility rather than incidental to it.
Provider
Education New Zealand with participating NZ universities
Partial scholarships rather than full funding, and the arithmetic is worth doing: the most recent round offered 29 awards totalling NZ$260,000, so the typical amount is a contribution towards fees rather than a free degree. More than 200 Indian students have held one since the scheme began in 2016. Applications run through the participating universities together with Education New Zealand, so start from the university you are applying to.
