Check if you're eligible

We haven't confirmed this year's application window, and these dates move every cycle — so we won't print one. The official page is the only reliable source. Ask us and we'll track it for you and tell you when it opens.

Eligibility

Read the country annex of the current call before anything else, because this is several programmes under one name and they do not share an eligibility list. The Master Programme — around 90 scholarships — is for public employees from a named list of Latin American countries and the Philippines, which does not include India. Other calls have been opened to Latin America, Africa and Asia, and the Diplomatic School strand does list Asia, but that one is for public officials and professionals studying diplomacy and international relations and runs to roughly 11 places. There is no general strand here for an Indian applicant heading to an ordinary Spanish master's.

How to apply

AECID publishes a separate call per programme, each with its own window — the 2025/26 Master Programme ran from 20 February to 6 March, the Diplomatic School strand from 9 to 20 June — so there is no single deadline to work back from. Every call carries the annex naming the countries eligible that year, and that annex is the document that decides whether applying is worth your time.
