We haven't confirmed this year's application window, and these dates move every cycle — so we won't print one. The official page is the only reliable source. Ask us and we'll track it for you and tell you when it opens.

Eligibility

India is not on the list for this scheme, which is the first thing to establish. The Czech government's developing-countries scholarships for 2027/28 go to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Ethiopia, Gabon, Mauritania, Zambia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Palestine, Guatemala and Honduras. There is a separate and genuinely open route for Indian citizens: a bilateral agreement under which the Czech Embassy in New Delhi announces scholarships for study or research visits at Czech public higher education institutions, for university students, graduates and PhD candidates.

How to apply

The Indian route runs through the Embassy in New Delhi rather than the ministry portal, so the ministry page will tell you that you are ineligible while the award you can actually apply for sits elsewhere. For 2026/27 the window ran from 20 January to 20 February 2026, with documents delivered to the Embassy in original form in one set by the closing date: an academic CV, a detailed plan of study or research, two letters of recommendation, a notarised copy of your diploma, certified transcripts and a copy of your passport.
