Eligibility
Open to international students as well as domestic ones, enrolled in an accredited research doctorate or research master's at an eligible Australian university — but one rule decides how realistic it is: a university may spend no more than 10% of its RTP funding in a grant year on scholarships for international students. The places are real and they are a small share of a fixed pool, so competition at any given institution is far sharper than the headline eligibility suggests.
The government funds it and the universities run it. Applications, selection and deadlines are entirely the university's, so there is no national portal and no central date — contact the postgraduate research office of the institution you are targeting and ask specifically whether RTP is open to international students in your field that year.
