Full-Time Master's Programme in Management (MSc)

Your personal aspirations are at the heart of HHL’s Master in Management programme—from academic content to practical experience. You shape your journey based on your interests, choosing both your focus areas and how you gain hands-on experience. The full-time programme consists of four key elements designed to develop innovative, responsible, and successful future leaders: Welcome Weeks, General Management Essentials, General Management Competencies, and General Management Deep Dives. 1. Welcome Weeks: Where your HHL journey begins The Welcome Weeks immerse you in the HHL spirit through intercultural team-building activities. You connect with classmates from diverse backgrounds and build a strong global network that will support you throughout your studies and beyond. Refresher courses in business fundamentals help you get started, alongside an introduction to the Leipzig Leadership Model. 2. General Management Essentials: Building your foundation This phase lays the groundwork for your management career through three core pillars: Business Administration & Economics, Leadership & Reflection, and Entrepreneurship & Disruption. You gain both fundamental knowledge and modern management insights. 3. General Management Competencies: Learning by doing Apply your knowledge in real-world settings—whether through company projects, internships, or international experiences. Options such as the Field Project, Practical Deepening, and study abroad opportunities allow you to gain valuable experience and build lasting professional connections. 4. General Management Deep Dives: Your specialisation Tailor your expertise by selecting two of four focus areas: Strategic Management Financial Decision Making Transformation Management Digital Entrepreneurship HHL also offers a dedicated Finance track for students aiming to specialise fully in finance. This includes Financial Decision Making, Advanced Financial Challenges, and add-ons such as Advanced Excel Modelling, Big Data Analytics in Finance, and case study seminars with CFOs. In addition, HHL offers a Strategy and Business Consulting track for those pursuing a career in consulting. Alongside working on real-life case studies with industry partners, the application of AI will be a key focus throughout the curriculum. We cater to your personal time constraints by offering two programme designs. You can either choose to finish your studies faster or to complete additional internships; you can decide for yourself and select the model that works best for your individual career planning. The 24-month programme consists of eight terms, including a mandatory internship and a study period abroad at one of HHL's more than 140 partner universities. Students who wish to shorten their study duration can write their Master's thesis in term six, thus shortening the programme to 21 months. HHL also offers a part-time Master of Science in Management.
