About this programme
The programme prepares students for positions as HR specialists, HR professionals, or HR executives in companies active in the international arena as well as positions in HR consulting firms and HR service providers. This objective is supported by the programme's strong international and strategic focus. In the public administration sector, the Master's degree is recognised as a qualification allowing the holder to apply for posts in the senior civil service. Courses are predominantly structured as interactive seminars and taught in English. The small group size facilitates direct dialogue and close contact between the students and the academic staff, enabling intensive work on case studies and fruitful and wide-ranging discussions. The Master's programme is divided into three sections: First semester: foundational courses and specialisation Second semester: foundational courses and specialisation Third semester: Master's thesis (provided students do not do an additional internship semester) The first semester modules are worth a total of 30 credit points. During the first semester, students extend their knowledge in particular areas and start specialising. The second semester modules - also worth 30 credit points - build on the first semester to provide additional specialised skills required for the challenges in the HR career sector. The two semesters are accompanied by a personal development module to provide further individual skills. For students who do not do an internship, the third semester is scheduled for completing the degree by submitting a Master's thesis and defending it in an oral exam. During the third semester, a research methodology seminar is provided to support work on the Master's thesis. The third semester is worth a total of 30 credit points. Total credits after successful completion of the programme: 90 ECTS
