We haven't confirmed this year's application window, and these dates move every cycle — so we won't print one. The official page is the only reliable source. Ask us and we'll track it for you and tell you when it opens.
Eligibility
For Indian applicants this is a research scholarship for early-career researchers rather than a taught-degree award. You must already hold a Master's degree, be no older than 35, and have secured an academic supervisor in Switzerland willing to direct and guide your proposed research. Switzerland opens the scheme to applicants from 183 countries, India among them. Conditions and deadlines are set per country of origin rather than globally.
Applications for the 2027-28 cycle opened on 20 August 2026, but there is no single deadline: the Swiss Federal Commission for Scholarships sets a different closing date for each country, published by the Swiss embassy in that country. Check the Embassy of Switzerland in India for the Indian date. A research scholarship also requires a Swiss academic supervisor who has agreed in advance to supervise you, which takes longer to arrange than the application itself. The application is free of charge — the FCS warns about emails asking for money.
CHF 2,450 per month for research scholars. Confirm the current value on the official page before you apply.
