The most common student visa interview questions — and how Indian students should answer them honestly and confidently.
What the officer is really checking
A visa interview mainly tests three things: are you a genuine student, can you afford it, and will you follow the rules. Every answer should reinforce those points, honestly.
Common questions
Expect: Why this university and course? Why this country and not India? How will you fund your studies? What are your career plans? Do you have family there? Answer clearly, with specifics — a vague answer raises doubts.
How to answer well
Be concise, confident and consistent with your application and documents. Know your course, university and finances cold. Never memorise scripted answers — officers can tell; speak naturally and truthfully.
Prepare your finances
Many refusals come down to unclear funds. Have your proof of funds ready and be able to explain it.
